Job summary

The Lottery Corporation in Brisbane is seeking a hands-on Security Operations professional to monitor, triage, and respond to security events. You will work within our Security Operations team, collaborating with MDR partners to stay ahead of evolving threats and protect systems and data.

You’ll investigate incidents, tune detection rules, and apply threat intelligence, with hybrid work options and generous leave benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Security Operations or a SOC environment.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, endpoint detection and network monitoring.
• Strong incident investigation and response capability.
• Experience building and tuning detection rules.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Understanding of cloud security in hybrid environments.
• PowerShell or Linux shell scripting capability.
• Strong networking fundamentals across TCP/IP and common protocols.
• Sound judgement and problem-solving skills under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage security threats and anomalous activity.
• Build and tune alerts to improve detection quality.
• Investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Coordinate remediation through to resolution.
• Apply threat intelligence to strengthen detection.
• Manage day-to-day engagement with MDR partners.
• Improve security processes through automation.
• Maintain and optimise security operations tooling.
• Participate in the Security Operations on-call rotation.
