RB Global, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Yard Manager to support the Yard Manager in ensuring the main auction site and off-site locations operate smoothly and safely.

The role involves coordinating site preparation, auction ramp, loading ramp, and overseeing yard layout and equipment line-up. You will ensure safety, environmental compliance, and equipment sale readiness while managing refurbishing schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site preparation, auction ramp and loading ramp.
• Oversee yard layout and equipment line-up.
• Ensure sale site safety per standards.
• Adhere to environmental regulations of the sale location.
• Plan refurbishing schedule and budget; manage POs and cost sheets.
• Liaise with subcontractors.
• Ensure equipment is sale-ready.
• Arrange directional, parking and yard signs.
• Ensure proper attachment removal.
• Supervise operators and yard staff, including scheduling casual staff.
• Maintain health, safety and environmental policy compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The major responsibility of the Assistant Yard Managers is to assist the Yard Manager in ensuring that the main auction site and off-site locations run smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for coordinating site preparation, auction ramp and loading ramp.
• Overseas the yard layout and equipment line up .
• Ensures the sale site is safe and up to Ritchie Brothers standards.
• Ensure adherence to environmental regulations of the sale location.
• Responsible for planning the refurbishing schedule and budget; control purchase orders and cost sheets.
• Liaise with subcontractors.
• Ensure equipment is in sale-ready condition.
• Arrange directional, parking and yard signs.
• Ensure proper attachment removal.
• Ensure equipment has fuel, oil and anti-freeze.
• Responsible for daily Supervision of operators and yard staff including scheduling of day of sale casual staff.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with all corporate and legislated health and safety and environmental policies, regulations and laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience managing or supervising multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with industrial and / or agricultural equipment, trucks and trailers.
• Previous cost management experience, and a background in business fundamentals and business financial knowledge is preferred.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proven experience providing excellent customer service to customers and colleagues.
• Strong computer skills, including the ability to learn new programs.
• Top-notch written and verbal communication skills (on this job your most valuable tools will be the 2-way radio, a cell phone and a computer).
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
