RB Global, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Yard Manager to support the Yard Manager in ensuring the auction site and off-site locations operate smoothly and safely.

The role focuses on coordinating site preparation, ramp operations, yard layout, and safety adherence. Responsibilities include coordinating signage, supervising yard staff, liaising with subcontractors, and ensuring all equipment is sale-ready and well maintained.

Qualifications

• EH&S experience required or preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with hands-on problem solving.
• Experience with inventory management and stock control systems.
• Experience supervising or managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with industrial/agricultural equipment, trucks and trailers.
• Background in cost management and basic business finance preferred.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service to clients and colleagues.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; using two-way radio, phone and computer as primary tools.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure sale site safety and adherence to RB standards.
• Ensure environmental regulations compliance at sale location.
• Plan refurbishing schedule and budget; manage purchase orders and cost sheets.
• Liaise with subcontractors to maintain workflow.
• Ensure equipment is sale-ready and fuel/oil levels are maintained.
• Arrange directional, parking and yard signage and maintain order.

Job description

The major responsibility of the Assistant Yard Managers is to assist the Yard Manager in ensuring that the main auction site and off-site locations run smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for coordinating site preparation, auction ramp and loading ramp.
• Overseas the yard layout and equipment line up .
• Ensures the sale site is safe and up to Ritchie Brothers standards.
• Ensure adherence to environmental regulations of the sale location.
• Responsible for planning the refurbishing schedule and budget; control purchase orders and cost sheets.
• Liaise with subcontractors.
• Ensure equipment is in sale-ready condition.
• Arrange directional, parking and yard signs.
• Ensure proper attachment removal.
• Ensure equipment has fuel, oil and anti-freeze.
• Responsible for daily Supervision of operators and yard staff including scheduling of day of sale casual staff.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with all corporate and legislated health and safety and environmental policies, regulations and laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial and / or agricultural equipment, trucks and trailers.
• Previous cost management experience, and a background in business fundamentals and business financial knowledge is preferred.

• Proven experience providing excellent customer service to customers and colleagues.
• Strong computer skills, including the ability to learn new programs.
• Top-notch written and verbal communication skills (on this job your most valuable tools will be the 2-way radio, a cell phone and a computer).
