Job summary

Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking an Assistant Supervisor to lead a skilled maintenance team across the region's sealed road network, delivering routine repairs and maintenance. The role is based at the Charlton Principal Depot with standard hours and a nine-day fortnight for improved work-life balance.

Applicants should hold essential safety and civil construction qualifications, a valid C-class licence, and Traffic Management accreditation, with expected progression within three months for

Qualifications

• WHS competency and construction safety knowledge.
• Certification in civil construction and traffic management.
• Current C class driving licence and road safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with leading a skilled maintenance team delivering routine repairs and maintenance across the region's sealed road network.
• Coordinate pothole, cracking, rutting and edge break repairs with team members.
• Ensure safety and compliance during field works and traffic management.

About you

Mandatory:

• WHSCompetency (White Card) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safelyin the construction industry, or equivalent, or a willingnessto obtain prior to commencement.
• Certificate III inCivil Construction or equivalent is mandatory, or if not held,to be obtained within an agreed timeframe.
• Traffic ManagementImplementation accreditation in accordance with MUTCD, or ifnot held, to be obtained within 3 months postcommencement.
• Working in Proximityto Traffic Awareness Part 1 and 2, or if not held, to beobtained within 3 months post commencement.
• Current ‘C’ ClassManual Driver's Licence.
• Acombination of experience, qualifications and competence in thecivil construction and maintenance field which enables you toperform the duties of the position.
• Certificate IV inCivil Construction (highly regarded).
• SafeWork Near Exposed Live Parts (SWNELP) (Ergon)training.
