Job summary

KickAss Products in Currumbin is seeking an experienced retail salesperson or emerging retail leader to join our Currumbin team as Assistant Store Manager. This hands-on role works with the Store Manager to drive sales, coach the team and keep the store running smoothly.

You will still spend time on the showroom floor helping customers, selling products and leading by example. Training and product resources are provided for knowledge in 12V, lithium, solar, camping, 4WD and off-grid ranges.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a retail team.
• Ability to coach and support a sales team for performance.
• Comfortable taking responsibility when the Store Manager is away.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced retail salesperson or emerging retail leader to join our Currumbin team as Assistant Store Manager.

This is a hands‑on role where you will work closely with the Store Manager to drive sales, coach the team and keep the store running smoothly.

You will still spend plenty of time on the showroom floor helping customers, selling products and leading by example. You will also step up to lead the store when the Store Manager is away.

You do not need to be a 12V expert. Experience in 4WD, automotive, camping, caravan, outdoor or technical products is highly regarded, but we have training and product resources in place to help you build your knowledge.

About the role

• Support the Store Manager to achieve store sales, customer service and operational targets
• Lead from the floor, actively selling and helping customers find the right products and solutions
• Coach, motivate and support the sales team to improve performance and product knowledge
• Take responsibility for the store and team when the Store Manager is not present
• Help build a positive, energetic and accountable team culture
• Support onboarding and training of new team members
• Assist with rostering, stock control, merchandising, banking and general store administration
• Maintain high standards of store presentation, merchandising and customer experience
• Support promotional events, campaigns and in‑store activations
• Assist with customer enquiries, warranty matters and escalations
• Build your knowledge across our 12V, lithium, solar, camping, 4WD and off‑grid product ranges

About you

You will be a great fit if you:

• Have solid experience in retail sales, trade counter sales, automotive, parts/accessories or technical product sales
• Have some experience leading, supervising, coaching or supporting a retail team
• Are confident stepping up and taking responsibility when the Store Manager is away
• Enjoy selling and are motivated by achieving sales and customer service targets
• Are confident starting conversations with customers and recommending the right products
• Can explain technical products in a simple, practical way
• Are comfortable helping with stock, merchandising, administration and day‑to‑day store operations
• Are reliable, energetic and willing to get involved wherever needed
• Can work a retail roster including weekends

Previous experience as an Assistant Store Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader, Senior Salesperson, Keyholder or similar would be highly regarded.

Nice to have

• Experience in 4WD, automotive parts/accessories, camping, caravan/RV, battery, auto electrical, marine, tools or technical retail
• Knowledge of 12V systems, lithium batteries, solar, DC‑DC chargers, inverters or off‑grid power
• A genuine interest in 4WDing, camping, caravanning, touring or the outdoors
