About Us

Norco is Australia's oldest and largest dairy co-operative, with more than 130 years of hands‑on experience in Australian dairy and agriculture. Proudly 100% Australian farmer‑owned, we're built from the ground up by the people who work the land.

Norco AgriSolutions has been serving customers since 1948 with 26 stores across NSW and QLD, two stockfeed mills and an in‑house commodity trading team. We are proud to provide our customers with competitive, convenient and trusted business solutions that help add value to their businesses.

About the Role

Ready to take the next step in your retail leadership career?

We're looking for a motivated, hands‑on Assistant Store Manager to join our Bowraville team. As the Store Manager's 2IC, you'll play a key role in supporting store performance, developing team capability and delivering outstanding service to customers across the local farming and rural community.

This is a key leadership position within the store, combining people leadership, customer service, sales and business growth, and day‑to‑day operational responsibilities. Working closely with the Store Manager, you'll help drive results, lead by example and contribute to a positive and high‑performing team culture.

You’ll support the day‑to‑day running of the store, provide coaching and guidance to team members, and help ensure customers receive practical solutions across a broad range of agricultural, rural and retail products. You’ll also support store operations, including stock management, merchandising and customer deliveries as required.

As a trusted part of the local community, our Bowraville store plays an important role in helping local farmers and rural customers access the products, advice and support they need. You’ll be joining a supportive team environment where you can make a genuine contribution to both the store's success and the communities we serve.

Whether you’re an experienced supervisor, team leader or retail professional looking to take the next step, this role offers a great opportunity to further develop your leadership capability and build a long‑term career with Norco.

In this Role, You Will
  • Lead by example to deliver exceptional customer service and support customers with practical solutions.
  • Support the Store Manager in driving store performance and achieving operational objectives.
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching and support to team members.
  • Foster a positive, safe and collaborative team culture.
  • Support inventory management activities including stock receipting, replenishment and stocktakes.
  • Maintain high standards of merchandising, store presentation and customer experience.
  • Support customer deliveries and loading activities as required, ensuring a high level of customer service and safe work practices.
  • Support the effective day‑to‑day operation of the store, ensuring stock availability, operational efficiency and strong customer outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and support Norco's connection to the local community.
  • Champion safe work practices and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
To Be Successful, You Will Demonstrate
  • Leadership experience in a retail, agricultural or customer‑facing environment.
  • Ability to motivate, coach and develop team members.
  • Strong operational and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • A customer‑focused approach and sound commercial awareness.
  • Experience with inventory management, stock control and cash handling processes.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Current and valid driver's licence (essential).
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
  • Flexibility to work rostered weekends and support the operational needs of the store.
  • Relevant qualification in business, retail, agriculture or a related field (desirable but not essential).
  • Interest in agriculture, rural products or regional communities would be highly regarded.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and hands‑on approach.
Why Join Us
  • Grow your leadership skills and play a key role in the success of the Bowraville store.
  • Enjoy a diverse role with a mix of leadership, customer service and operational responsibilities.
  • Be part of a supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Build meaningful relationships with customers and the local community.
  • Join something different: Be part of a 100% Australian farmer‑owned co‑operative that has proudly supported farmers, regional communities and Australian agriculture for more than 130 years.
