Job summary

Bunnings is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to oversee daily operations, sales and high-volume stock management for our Newcastle and Hunter Valley stores. You will report to the Site Manager and lead 180+ staff, supported by experienced Department Managers, Supervisors, Team Members and forklift drivers.

Collaboration with local stores and Distribution Centres will be key to success. You will oversee departments such as Service, Home, Builders, Timber Yard and Garden, and will shape

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of 50+ team members and leaders to deliver a safe, engaged and high-performing operation.
• Strong focus on Safety and Wellbeing with coaching to sustain best practices.
• Retail industry experience or large-volume customer-focused organisation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 50+ direct reports, including duty manager responsibilities, opening/closing the store.
• Conduct safety walks and audits; coach safe behaviours across the warehouse.
• Monitor sales, margin and wages; implement improvement plans as needed.
• Drive stock integrity, stocktakes and investigations into discrepancies.
• Support Department Managers through coaching and performance feedback; develop leaders.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and team engagement to drive results.
