Job summary

Brighton Homes in Queensland is seeking a Site Manager Assistant to support the Site Manager in delivering retirement village construction on time and to budget. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will help coordinate trades, materials, and site safety.

You should hold a Building Trade Certificate (or be willing to complete Cert IV Building and Construction), possess strong planning and communication skills, and be committed to progressing to a Site Manager role within a fast-paced residential

Qualifications

• Building Trade Certificate or Cert IV Building and Construction (or willingness)
• Ability to coordinate multiple service providers and suppliers
• Knowledge of basic building methods, materials and standards for residential homes
• Strong communication and planning abilities for a fast-paced environment
• Innovative approach to solving problems and driving progress

Responsibilities

• Assist Site Manager in program flow for retirement village construction
• Coordinate materials and trades to ensure timely construction
• Ensure homes are built per contractual drawings and approvals
• Inspect completed works for quality and adherence to plans
• Maintain safety and site practices per Safety Management System
• Liaise with customers and council to provide great service
• Complete required documentation during the building process
• Support up to 100 contractors on site

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Site Manager and part of the Brighton Projects Construction team, the key focus of this role is to assist the Site Manager in project managing the construction process from start to finish, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with the contract and Council approvals.

More specifically, you will support the Site Manager with:

• Managing the program for flow of construction for a lifestyle retirement village.
• Managing a safety-first approach on site with up to 100 contractors
• The allocation of materials and trades to job sites to ensure timely construction of the project
• Ensuring that homes are built in accordance with contractual arrangements and approved drawings
• Inspecting completed work to ensure high standard of quality workmanship
• Ensuring that homes are completed on time and within the allocated budget
• Ensuring construction is carried out safely and in accordance with company processes and systems
• Ensuring Trades understand and are complying with the company Safety Management System and the WH&S legislation and internal operating systems
• Liaising with customers and council, as required to provide an unbeatable customer service
• Ensuring that the required documentation and paperwork is completed during the building process

About you

• A Building Trade Certificate or willing to complete Cert IV Building and Construction
• Ability to coordinate multiple service providers and suppliers to complete homes expediently.
• General knowledge of the basic methods, practices, tools, materials, and work standards related to the building of residential homes
• Strong communication and planning abilities with a passion for working in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate an innovative approach to solving problems
• Dedicated to learning and progressing to Site Manager role
