NEX Building Group Pty Ltd is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support the Site Manager on multi-residential projects in the Brisbane region. The role focuses on coordinating the construction program, safety standards, and timely delivery for lifestyle retirement village homes.

You will work within Brighton Projects Construction team, ensuring contracts, approvals and drawings are followed, while developing toward a Site Manager role.

Qualifications

• A Building Trade Certificate or willing to complete Cert IV Building and Construction.
• Ability to coordinate multiple service providers and suppliers to complete homes expediently.
• General knowledge of basic methods, practices, tools, materials and work standards for residential homes.
• Strong communication and planning abilities; capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Innovative approach to solving problems and progressing toward Site Manager.
• Committed to learning and progressing to Site Manager role.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Manager in managing the construction program for a lifestyle retirement village.
• Support safety-first site practices with up to 100 contractors.
• Allocate materials and trades to sites to ensure timely construction.
• Ensure homes are built per contract, drawings and approvals; inspect workmanship.
• Ensure on-time delivery within budget and site safety compliance.
• Liaise with customers and council to provide excellent service.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Site Manager and part of the Brighton Projects Construction team, the key focus of this role is to assist the Site Manager in project managing the construction process from start to finish, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with the contract and Council approvals.

More specifically, you will support the Site Manager with:

• Managing the program for flow of construction for a lifestyle retirement village
• Managing a safety-first approach on site with up to 100 contractors
• The allocation of materials and trades to job sites to ensure timely construction of the project
• Ensuring that homes are built in accordance with contractual arrangements and approved drawings
• Inspecting completed work to ensure high standard of quality workmanship
• Ensuring that homes are completed on time and within the allocated budget
• Ensuring construction is carried out safely and in accordance with company processes and systems
• Ensuring Trades understand and are complying with the company Safety Management System and the WH&S legislation and internal operating systems
• Liaising with customers and council, as required to provide an unbeatable customer service
• Ensuring that the required documentation and paperwork is completed during the building process
