Job summary

The San Telmo Group in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to lead Front of House across one or more venues. You’ll partner with the Restaurant Manager to drive guest experience, service standards and operational excellence.

This is a permanent full-time role offering a strong salary band, generous tips, performance bonuses, and extensive development opportunities across six venues in Melbourne and Brisbane, along with 40% staff discounts and regular staff meals.

• FOH leadership and people management experience in busy, high-standards restaurants.

Assistant Manager, Front of House (FOH)

Permanent Full-Time - $95K–$105K estimated earnings (salary, tips & bonuses) + super

We’re looking for two experienced hospitality leaders to join The San Telmo Group as Assistant Restaurant Managers. Working closely with your Restaurant Manager, you’ll take ownership across venue operations, people management and continuous improvement.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include

• Venue Operations – Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the FOH, leading services and ensuring consistently high standards across service, guest experience and venue presentation.
• People Management – Leading the FOH team across recruitment, onboarding, training, rostering, appraisals and ongoing development.
• Continuous Improvement – Working closely with the Restaurant Manager to identify opportunities to improve service, team performance and operational efficiency, and helping turn those improvements into action.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Supervisor or experienced hospitality leader within a busy, quality-focused restaurant.
• Strong operational knowledge and demonstrated experience leading FOH teams, with an understanding of recruitment, training, rostering, performance management and employee development.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to lead busy services, make decisions and maintain high standards.
