Job summary

ARYZTA Australia & New Zealand is seeking a proactive Assistant Production Manager to support our Cakes & Spiral manufacturing operations in Liverpool, NSW. Reporting to the Production Manager, this high-visibility role focuses on delivering safe, efficient, and quality production with a culture of engagement and continuous improvement.

You will lead hands-on teams, plan daily production activities, monitor KPIs and drive safety, GMP and HACCP compliance while applying the ARYZTA values of

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a complex manufacturing environment, ideally FMCG/food.
• Proven leadership experience managing operational teams.
• Strong people management, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of safety, GMP, HACCP and quality systems.
• Experience with labour planning, rostering and performance management.
• Experience with production reporting, payroll or workforce management systems.
• Proficient MS Office skills with intermediate Excel.
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for wide audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support the Production Manager in the daily management of Cakes & Spiral manufacturing operations.
• Assist in planning and coordinating bakery production processes to maintain a continuous flow of high-quality products.
• Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions when required.
• Drive a strong safety-first culture while ensuring GMP, HACCP, food safety and quality standards.
• Mentor and develop team members; conduct performance evaluations and provide recommendations for employee development.
• Support the selection, onboarding, and development of bakery employees; assist rostering and payroll activities.
• Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Sanitation, Distribution and other cross-functional teams.
• Act as Production Manager when required.
