Job summary

Savers Australia is seeking an Assistant Production Manager in New South Wales, Sydney. You will support the Production Manager in leading a large team responsible for sorting, processing and preparing stock for the retail floor, with a hands-on, on-floor leadership approach to meet targets.

You’ll work on the production floor, coordinate workflow, monitor performance and help develop team capabilities for future progression into a Production Manager role.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, QSR hospitality, production, warehousing, logistics or similar environments.
• Experience leading or supervising teams in fast-paced environments.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Practical, work-on-the-floor leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Support the leadership of a high-volume production team.
• Help drive daily output, productivity and workflow across the production floor.
• Monitor team performance and adjust to meet targets.
• Maintain quality standards and consistency of processed stock.
• Support safe work practices and ensure processes are followed.

About the Role

This isn't a typical supervisor role. As an Assistant Production Manager, you will support the Production Manager in leading a large team responsible for sorting, processing and preparing stock for the retail floor. You'll play a hands-on role in driving daily output, supporting team performance and maintaining strong operational standards - while building the capability to step into a Production Manager role over time. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will:

• Support the leadership of a high-volume production team
• Help drive daily output, productivity and workflow across the production floor
• Monitor team performance and support adjustments to meet targets
• Maintain quality standards and consistency of processed stock
• Support safe work practices and ensure processes are followed
• Step into leadership of the production floor when required

What Your Day Might Look Like

You'll spend most of your time on the production floor, working alongside your team and supporting delivery of daily targets. You might:

• Coordinate workflow to ensure production targets are met
• Support team members to improve pace and quality of work
• Monitor output and adjust resources in real timeAssist with onboarding and training of new team members
• Ensure safety processes and standards are followed
• Work closely with other leaders to ensure stock flow meets demand

About You

You are a hands-on team leader ready to step into a broader operational leadership role. You'll bring:
