Job summary

Metricon Homes is seeking a design/drafting professional to join our Robina-based team and help evolve our national product range. You will collaborate with product designers and cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life through detailed documentation, floorplans, facades, and layouts.

The role requires a genuine passion for residential design, a relevant qualification, and at least 3 years of design/drafting experience, with familiarity in volume residential building and Revit.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for residential design.
• A relevant qualification in Building Design, Drafting, or similar.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a design or drafting role.
• Experience in volume residential building is highly regarded.
• Strong capability in Revit (or similar CAD software).
• Solid understanding of building codes and planning requirements.
• A collaborative mindset with strong communication skills.
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Based in our Robina office, you will play an integral role in supporting the development, management and evolution of our product range.
• You will work closely with Product Designers and cross-functional teams, contributing to both new and existing designs, bringing concepts to life through thoughtful documentation and detail.
• Assist in the development and documentation of home designs across the product range.
• Prepare accurate and well-resolved design documentation aligned with briefs and delivery programs.
• Contribute to floorplans, facades, site plans, internal layouts, and design options.
• Support product management activities across both current and new designs.
• Work collaboratively across teams to deliver outcomes within project timeframes.
• Develop a strong understanding of the Metricon product suite and design principles; and stay across relevant building codes, standards, and approval processes.
