Job summary

Bupa Bowral Medical Centre is seeking a proactive Practice Support role to assist the Practice Manager. This 4-day-per-week fixed-term position runs through January 2028 and requires Tue and Wed availability.

Join a close-knit clinical team where you’ll lead in practice operations, rostering, and staff development while maintaining patient care standards. Ideal for candidates with GP clinic experience and strong teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ year’s experience in management or extensive experience working within a GP Clinic.
• Ideally with proficiency in Best Practice software, however this is not essential.
• Be a strong communicator and active listener who can build rapport quickly.
• Tech-savvy and adaptable, with the ability to pick up new systems with ease.
• Be a natural problem-solver who takes initiative and gets things done without being asked.
• Able to multitask and work accurately at pace in a busy clinical environment.
• Confident working independently and managing the practice in the Practice Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Work 4 days per week in our Bowral clinic until January 2028.
• Support and contribute to any change management within practice.
• Support the Practice Manager with recruitment, rostering, team performance reviews, and financial oversight.
• Coach and develop your team to achieve KPI targets and practice goals.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the patient experience.
• Assist in facilitating regular team meetings and maintaining effective communication across the practice.
• Step up as Acting Practice Manager in their absence, taking full ownership of rostering, staff performance, financial monitoring, timesheet approvals, and order processing when required.

The purpose of this job

is…Play a vital role in the effective running of the practice by providing essential support to the Practice Manager to showcase leadership and operational attributes. This position is not a "Senior Administrative" role, this role, available at our Bowral Medical Centre, is truly the right hand to our practice manager, offering support in leading a close-knit team.

This is a rare opportunity is available on a Part Time Fixed term contract, due to end in January 2028, will see the successful applicant working 4 days per week which must include Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
