As we continue to scale our global platform, the Assistant Merchandiser, ANZ will play a critical role in driving stock availability, sales, and profitability across Australia and New Zealand retail and event channels.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Assistant Merchandiser, ANZ is a key member of the Merchandising team, supporting the Merchandiser to ensure fans across Australia and New Zealand can access great quality fanwear when and where they want it, at the right price. This role spans end-to-end purchase order management, WSSI inputs, trade reporting, and close collaboration with suppliers and channel partners to optimise stock availability and productivity across ANZ retail and event channels. The Assistant Merchandiser, ANZ delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

HOW WILL YOU DRIVE IMPACT

Success is measured by the ability to deliver results through BOLD capabilities and measurable outcomes.

Team & Leadership Impact (Build Championship Teams)

  • Partner closely with the Merchandiser and cross‑functional stakeholders — including warehouse, suppliers, and channel partners — to align on intake, delivery, and stock targets across ANZ retail and event channels.
  • Contribute to department strategy by sharing data‑driven insights and recommendations that support broader business goals across the ANZ region.
  • Collaborate with the wider Merchandising team to maintain consistent critical path management and ensure smooth communication across all key stakeholders.

Fan & Customer Impact (Obsessed with Fans)

  • Ensure fans across Australia and New Zealand have access to the right product, in the right place, at the right price by optimising stock availability and productivity across all channels.
  • Support markdown and promotional planning to maximise fan value and commercial outcomes, analysing the effectiveness of activity to inform future decisions.
  • Work with channel partners to identify and act on opportunities that improve the fan purchasing experience across retail and event environments.
  • Flex availability and presence around key sporting moments — including finals series, test matches, and franchise home games — to ensure fans are served at peak demand.

Innovation & Problem Solving (Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit)

  • Provide ongoing trade reporting and analysis to proactively identify commercial opportunities and risks, translating data into actionable recommendations.
  • Review historical data and financial trends to build accurate forecasts that inform department planning and buying decisions.
  • Make evidence‑based recommendations for markdown and promotional activity, continuously evaluating outcomes to sharpen future strategy.
  • Explore new tools and approaches to improve the efficiency and accuracy of WSSI inputs, order management, and critical path tracking.

Ownership & Execution (Determined & Relentless Mindset)

  • Own end-to-end PO creation, management, and communication, ensuring timely and accurate execution across suppliers, warehouse, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage critical path and intake schedules, overseeing order management to deliver against launch and stock targets across ANZ retail and event channels.
  • Support department financial KPIs through disciplined monitoring of intake, markdown, and stock performance metrics.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and commitment by working additional hours, including evenings and weekends, as required around major sporting events and hot markets.

We are building a future-ready organization. This role is expected to:

  • Apply AI and technology to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes
  • Use data and digital tools to inform decisions and enhance performance
  • Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in adopting new technologies and ways of working
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE YOU BRING

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a fast‑paced retail environment, with a background in buying, merchandising (planning), or stock management roles, ideally within the Australian and/or New Zealand market.
  • Practical working knowledge of product set-up, order management, critical path and delivery scheduling, promotion and markdown planning, WSSI process, and allocation and replenishment.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and interpret historical data and financial trends to support forecasting and trading decisions.
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers and warehouse teams to maintain delivery schedules and manage intake against targets.
  • Willingness to travel to major sporting venues and events across ANZ, and to work flexibly around major sporting calendars including finals series, test matches, and franchise home games.
  • Right to work in Australia and/or New Zealand required.
