HorizonOne Recruitment in Canberra is seeking a Recruitment Specialist to lead a multilateral placements program and manage end-to-end recruitment for government and international partners.

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for multilateral placements, including candidate packs, job ads, interviews and reference checks.
  • Identify and approach prospective candidates directly (headhunting) when required.
  • Advise on recruitment processes to meet APS standards.
  • Support Australians on placement with regular check-ins throughout the term.
  • Maintain a forward calendar of administrative milestones for each placement.
  • Support grant management activities including due diligence, payments and procurement.
  • Build and maintain relationships across government agencies, diplomatic posts and multilateral organisations.

This Australian Government organisation plays an important role in advancing Australia’s international interests and building strong relationships with governments, international organisations and partners around the world.

You will join an engaged and collaborative team working on a high-profile program that provides Australian Government employees with opportunities to undertake placements within multilateral organisations.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experienced recruitment professional to step into a role that goes well beyond traditional recruitment.

As the Recruitment Specialist, you will play a central role in delivering a multilateral placements program, managing recruitment processes from end to end while working closely with Australian Government agencies, international organisations, diplomatic networks and candidates.

You will have the opportunity to use your recruitment expertise in a interesting environment, working across APS recruitment, international stakeholder engagement, candidate management and program administration.

The role offers variety, autonomy and the chance to build relationships across Australia’s international and public sector networks.

The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will take ownership of recruitment and program administration activities, ensuring candidates and international partners receive a high standard of service throughout the placement lifecycle.

You’ll be:

  • Managing end-to-end recruitment for multilateral placements, including candidate packs, job ads, interviews and reference checks
  • Identifying and approaching prospective candidates directly (headhunting) when required
  • Advising on recruitment processes and procedures to ensure they meet APS standards
  • Supporting Australians on placement with regular check‑ins throughout their term
  • Maintaining a forward calendar of administrative milestones for each placement
  • Supporting grant management activities, including due diligence, payments, procurement, monitoring and evaluation
  • Building and maintaining relationships across government agencies, diplomatic posts and multilateral organisations
The Ideal Person

You will be an experienced recruitment professional who understands how to run a quality recruitment process and is comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

Experience recruiting within the APS will be highly regarded, as will exposure to program management, procurement or grants administration.

You will bring strong written and interpersonal communication skills and the confidence to adapt your approach when dealing with different audiences, from candidates and senior APS stakeholders through to international organisations and government representatives.

You will be comfortable working with sensitive information, exercising sound judgement and managing matters with discretion.

Most importantly, you will be someone who can work with a high degree of autonomy while remaining a collaborative team member.

You will enjoy building relationships, solving problems and keeping a complex program moving, even when there are plenty of moving parts.

Salary / Rate
  • $65/hr – $80/hr + Super
  • A Negative Vetting 1 or Negative Vetting 2 security clearance is essential to be considered for this opportunity.
