Job summary

The Honeysuckle Hotel, part of ALH Hotels, is seeking an Assistant Manager to help lead a bustling harbourfront venue. You will support the Publican, supervise staff, and help maintain exceptional guest experiences across bar, bistro and events.

This hands-on role requires physical tasks, a positive attitude, and strong people skills to keep the pub thriving when leadership is away. Growth opportunities exist within the Endeavour Group network.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising bar, bistro or gaming room operations.
• Ability to lead a team and deliver guest experiences.
• Current RSA, RCG and ARCG as per state requirements.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Support the Publican to run the pub smoothly, safely and with a great vibe.
• Lead a team of hospitality staff and maintain high service standards.
• Address issues promptly to prevent problems and maintain momentum.
• Represent the pub confidently when the boss is away.

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Honeysuckle Hotelbuzzing and loved by the locals.

Standing tall on the shoreline of Newcastle Harbour, The Honeysuckle Hotel is a stunning, multi-level waterfront venue blending modern, rustic, and industrial design. We offer chic pub dining, live entertainment, a state-of-the-art TAB, and premium event spaces. Join our team to deliver exceptional hospitality against the backdrop of spectacular harbour views.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA, RCG and ARCG as per state requirements
