Job summary

The Honeysuckle Hotel in Newcastle Harbour is seeking an Assistant Manager to help keep the venue buzzing with exceptional hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. Base salary from $80,000 AUD plus Super plus a Bonus Scheme and group-wide discounts.

Lead a team, support the Publican, and ensure safe, smooth operations while delivering memorable guest experiences. RSA/RCG/ARCG are required and the role involves hands-on duties and physical tasks.

• Ability to lead a team and deliver guest-focused service.
• Confidence to act as face of the pub when leadership is away.

Responsibilities

We're on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Honeysuckle Hotel buzzing and loved by the locals.

Standing tall on the shoreline of Newcastle Harbour, The Honeysuckle Hotel is a stunning, multi-level waterfront venue blending modern, rustic, and industrial design. We offer chic pub dining, live entertainment, a state-of-the-art TAB, and premium event spaces. Join our team to deliver exceptional hospitality against the backdrop of spectacular harbour views.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

Get to know the locals so well they think you're part of the crew

Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe

Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends

Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches

Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

You've been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising

You've learned from great managers and now you're ready to step up

You've got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away

You've got a current RSA, RCG and ARCG as per state requirements
