Job summary

Albion Hotel in Queensland is seeking an hands-on Assistant Manager to drive service across the bistro, sports bar, and gaming lounge.

You'll lead from the floor with a collaborative team, mentor staff, and partner with venue leadership to ensure seamless operations, safety, and a great guest experience across every shift. RSA/RSG, RMLV, and Approved Managers Licence required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role requiring manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties.
• Requires RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements.
• Supervisory experience or exposure to leading a team is preferred.

Responsibilities

If you are a passionate hospitality manager who thrives on the energy of an inner-city landmark, the Albion Hotel offers an outstanding platform for your career. From high-turnover bistro trade and game-day crowds in the sports bar to delivering host-led service in our gaming lounge, this role puts you in the thick of the action across every shift.

You won't be chained to a desk, you’ll be leading from the front on the floor. Working alongside a collaborative group of Assistant Managers, you’ll partner with venue leadership to run seamless service, mentor our energetic team, build strong rapport with our loyal regulars, and elevate standards across all venue touchpoints.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands‑on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licenceas per state requirements
