Job summary

The Samford Hotel, part of The Comiskey Group, is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant/Operations Manager to lead daily venue operations and a dynamic team. You will drive exceptional guest service and help grow the business in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year in a similar role, hold RSA, RSG, RMLV and Approved Manager accreditation, and possess strong knowledge of beer, wine and spirits. Availability for nights, weekends, and day shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum (1) year experience in a similar role.
• RSA, RSG, RMLV and Approved Manager accreditation (gaming)
• Strong product knowledge in beer, wine and spirits
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

• Oversee the running of food service, ensuring service standards and memorable dining experiences.
• Demonstrate strong skills in budgeting and achieving financial targets

The Samford Hotel is located in the beautiful Samford Valley. Only 30 minutes from the CBD, makes for a beautiful day trip, the Samford Hotel is the perfect location for delicious eats, decadent drinks. The venue offers the perfect setting for most popular occasions. In February 2026, The Hotel opened one of the most impressive kids playgrounds in the northern suburbs of Brisbane and the kitchen started major renovations in June 2026 with the second stage being scheduled for completion in the next few weeks. Future large scale renovations are on the cards. It is an exciting time to work at our beautiful hotel!

You'll help lead a dynamic team, ensuring our guests receive exceptional service at every turn. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the running of food service, ensuring our service standards are upheld and we are creating memorable dining experiences

Demonstrate strong skills in working within budget constraints and achieving financial targets

Maintain product knowledge of beer, wine and spirits

Adhere to cash-procedures and ensure venue closes are tight and thorough

Maintain knowledge of venue compliance, OLGR regulations and venue operations

Training and motivating the team with a focus on continual staff development through effective communication

Work with the marketing team to produce creative promotions and venue initiatives

Follow stock control procedures and complete accurate stock takes

Ensure that the services standards are upheld in gaming facilities

About you:

Minimum (1) year experience in a similar role

Highly motivated, customer focused, and passionate about hospitality

Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities with efficiency and composure

A solid track record of meeting and exceeding Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)

A natural and confident leader

RSA, RSG, RMLV and Approved Manager accreditation with along with gaming machine experience

Have a strong product knowledge in beer, wine and spirits

Have full availability to work a mix of nights, weekends and day shifts
