Job summary

The Mater Hospital North Sydney seeks an Assistant in Nursing to join McQuoin Ward on a casual basis. You will support the Nursing staff with basic patient care in a busy surgical unit, reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager and integrating with the multidisciplinary team.

You must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Nursing (2nd year) or a Diploma of Nursing at least 2nd stage, and hold a Certificate 3 in Health Service Assistance with fundamental clinical skills.

About The Role:

• In this program you will be allocated to the McQuoin Ward. This is a highly productive surgical orthopaedics ward, where you will report directly to the Nurse Unit Manager and integrate into the nursing and multidisciplinary team.
• The Assistant in Nursing provides support to the Nursing staff in the delivery of basic care in busy surgical department. This experience could assist you in securing a New Graduate Position in the future.

About You:

• Enrolled in and undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing at 2nd year level.
• Enrolled in and undertaking a Diploma of Nursing and in at least 2nd stage.
• Certificate 3 in Health Service Assistance.
• Complete fundamental clinical skills, to assist the RN/EN workforce.
• Flexible and available to work on a 24/7 rotating roster.
• Previous experience working in an acute healthcare area (desired).
