Job summary

The King's School, Australia's oldest independent school, invites applications for a Grounds Supervisor to lead the Grounds team in maintaining cricket turf wickets, winter sports facilities (rugby and football), and athletics tracks at North Parramatta Campus.

You will bring at least five years' experience managing large turf fields, a Certificate III in Horticulture (Turf), knowledge of soil, turf and chemical management, and proven ability to supervise staff while adhering to WHS policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate 3 in Horticulture (Turf management).
• Five years' experience in preparing and maintaining high standard sporting fields and turf wickets.
• Knowledge of chemical management, including chemical registers, SDS, storage and handling.
• Experience supervising staff and promoting WHS compliance.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Head Curator with the coordination of day-to-day grounds activities to prepare fields to a high standard weekly.
• Prepare and maintain cricket wickets to a minimum 1st grade standard.
• Prepare sports fields and facilities for scheduled training and weekend fixtures.
• Ensure mark-up of Rugby, Soccer fields and athletic tracks.
• Assist with safe management, storage, handling and application of fertilisers, pesticides and other chemicals.
• Develop and implement turf management programs for all sports fields.
• Manage all aspects of turf maintenance, renovation, contractors, irrigation and equipment.

ABOUT THE ROLE
