Job summary

Central Coast Sports College in Kariong NSW is seeking a Greenkeeper to join the Grounds and Maintenance Team. The full-time role starts early with a 5:30am schedule and an immediate start option.

Responsibilities include maintaining sport fields, mowing, line marking, equipment operation, landscaping, and basic building upkeep. Candidates should hold Cert III in Sports Turf Management or equivalent and have chemical handling accreditations, with a NSW Working with Children check.

Qualifications

• Cert lll Sports Turf Management or equivalent practical experience.
• Accreditations for working with chemicals: AH CCHM304 - Transport and store chemicals; AH CCHM307 - Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases.
• NSW working with children check clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sport fields and surrounding areas: repair, water, seed, pesticide application, aeration and fertilising.
• Mow sport fields and surrounding areas (cylinder).
• Mark out lines on playing areas.
• Operate and maintain hand and power equipment (mowers, aerators, cultivators, line marking).
• Undertake minor maintenance of buildings and equipment not covered by contracts or needing a tradesperson.
• Follow CCSC WHS policy and safe work procedures, ensure own safety and others, be familiar with MSDS for chemicals.

Central Coast Sports College – Kariong NSW

Central Coast Sports College (CCSC) is a progressive independent school situated in Kariong on the NSW Central Coast. We specialise in providing innovative educational and sport programs to student athletes from Kindergarten to Year 12. Our purpose is to provide opportunities for CCSC student athletes to attempt challenging and new experiences within a safe environment that will develop their independence and personal skills.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Greenkeeper to join the CCSC Grounds and Maintenance Team to create and maintain a welcoming environment for the College and the general surroundings.

This is a full time position Monday to Friday (5:30am start) ideally, we are looking for an immediate start.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

Maintain the sport fields and surrounding areas - repairing, watering, sowing/seeding, pesticide application, aerating and fertilising.

Mowing (cylinder) the sport fields and surrounding areas.

Marking out lines on playing areas

Operating and general maintenance of hand and power equipment such as mowers, aerators, cultivators and line marking equipment.

Undertaking special landscaping or planting projects.

Undertake as required, minor maintenance of buildings and equipment not covered by contracts or requiring a qualified tradesperson.

Comply with CCSC's WHS Policy, safe work procedures, instructions and rules, particularly in the correct use of equipment

Be responsible for own health and safety and for the health and safety of others in the workplace

Be familiar with the material safety data sheets (MSDS) for any chemical substances used and abide by the directions for use and storage

Work unsupervised

Qualifications and experience:

Cert lll Sports Turf Management or equivalent practical experience

Accreditations for working with chemicals:

AHCCHM307 - Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases

NSW working with children check clearance

Knowledge and skills:

Knowledge of irrigation and automated sprinkler systems

Good level of physical fitness and strength.
