Job summary

The Assistant Financial Controller at Accor’s Novotel Brisbane supports the Financial Controller in overseeing the hotel's financial performance, delivering timely insights to department leaders to optimise results.

Responsibilities include budgeting, planning, forecasting, monthly and yearly reporting, and routine audits to ensure compliance. The role also trains hotel leaders and the finance team to uphold financial integrity.

Job Description

The Assistant Financial Controller works with the support of the Financial Controller to oversea the hotel's financial performance, and provide other department leaders with accurate and timely consultation on how to optimise financial performance. The primary responsibilities of the role include:

• Support in management of budgeting, planning, and forecasting for the hotel, including analysis and reporting for monthly and yearly results.
• Monthly analysis and reporting of results, forecast, and P&L.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory systems and standards.
• Provide appropriate training to hotel leaders & the finance team to ensure accuracy and financial integrity at all levels.

Qualifications

This role requires a specialised skill set, you must be able to demonstrate competence and expertise in financial processes of a hotels operations. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

• Significant experience using hotel systems: Opera, Micros, Sun, PurchasePlus, Ready Workforce, Currency Select, Online Banking portals, and others as deemed necessary to support the performance of the hotel.
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide analytical commentary.
• Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.
