Novotel Brisbane South Bank, located in Brisbane's Cultural Precinct, invites applications for Assistant Financial Controller. This role, supported by the Financial Controller, focuses on optimizing the hotel’s financial performance and advising department leaders with timely insights.

Situated in the vibrant heart of Brisbane's Cultural Precinct near the beautiful South Bank Parklands, Novotel Brisbane South Bank places you, and our guests, just moments away from premier destinations such as the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, and the Queensland Art Gallery. This year, we're reimagining what exceptional guest service is at our hotel; This is your opportunity to join our team, as we prepare to launch Brisbane’s newest grill experience.

The Assistant Financial Controller works with the support of the Financial Controller to oversea the hotel's financial performance, and provide other department leaders with accurate and timely consultation on how to optimise financial performance. The primary responsibilities of the role include:

• Support in management of budgeting, planning, and forecasting for the hotel, including analysis and reporting for monthly and yearly results.
• Monthly analysis and reporting of results, forecast, and P&L.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory systems and standards.
• Provide appropriate training to hotel leaders & the finance team to ensure accuracy and financial integrity at all levels.

Qualifications

This role requires a specialised skill set, you must be able to demonstrate competence and expertise in financial processes of a hotels operations. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

• Significant experience using hotel systems: Opera, Micros, Sun, PurchasePlus, Ready Workforce, Currency Select, Online Banking portals, and others as deemed necessary to support the performance of the hotel.
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide analytical commentary.
• Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.
