Job summary

Nine's Group Finance team is hiring an Assistant Financial Accountant to support the financial accounting function across our Publishing, Broadcasting and Digital divisions. You will contribute to key reporting and balance sheet processes while helping to improve processes and maintain strong internal controls.

You will review general ledger entries, assist with accounts payable, complete monthly reconciliations, and support month-end close with accruals and journal entries.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience in an assistant accounting or financial accounting role.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Organised with ability to manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review and process general ledger entries per policies.
• Assist with accounts payable activities, including invoice coding.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end closing with accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
• Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain robust internal controls and drive process improvements.
