LifeStrands Genomics (Australia) Pty Ltd – Mount Waverley VIC is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join our growing Australian business. In this hands-on role, you will manage financial reporting and finance operations while partnering with management to support growth of our precision oncology testing services.

You will oversee general ledger, payroll, BAS, payroll tax and compliance, drive monthly management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and support year-end close.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CPA/CA qualified or working towards qualification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' accounting experience.
• Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards, BAS, payroll tax and compliance requirements.
• Strong Excel and accounting ERP skills, Dynamic 365 Finance, preferred.
• High attention to detail with a hands-on, proactive approach.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while fostering strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain full accounting function including GL, journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
• Oversee end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare weekly/monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Maintain payroll records and payroll accounting entries.
• Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll tax, FBT and other statutory compliance.
• Prepare monthly management reports, financial analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end close and support external audits.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies and regulatory compliance.
• Manage inventory accounting and stock controls.
• Process and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Support process improvements and ad hoc financial/operational tasks.
