Job summary

Private Advertiser in Brisbane seeks an Assistant Director / 2IC to help prepare and open a brand-new early childhood centre, guiding daily operations and leading administration.

You will support the Director with family engagement, enrolments, rostering and staff onboarding, while ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework and service policies. This is a pivotal off-the-floor leadership role with opportunities to shape systems and culture from day one.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher qualification required.
• Experience in a 2IC/Assistant Director, administration or leadership role within early childhood education.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confidence conducting centre tours and communicating with families.
• Experience with childcare management systems such as Xplor and Storypark and rostering platforms.
• Understanding of the National Quality Framework and regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Passion for supporting educators, children and families.
• Primarily off-the-floor leadership and administration.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Director with the setup and establishment of the brand-new centre
• Supporting the development of operational systems, processes and administrative procedures
• Conducting centre tours for prospective families and assisting with enrolment enquiries
• Managing enrolments, waitlists, bookings and family communications
• Building positive relationships with families and supporting a welcoming enrolment experience
• Assisting with staff recruitment, onboarding and induction processes
• Supporting daily centre administration, accounts and record management
• Assisting with rostering, staffing arrangements and daily operations
• Supporting compliance with the National Quality Framework, service policies and procedures
• Working alongside the Director to establish a positive, supportive and professional team culture
