Health and Community Services Directorate (HCSD) in Canberra is seeking an Assistant Director to join the Governance, Assurance and Risk team. Details: Governance, Assurance and Risk is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Director to join the Governance and Reporting team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to strategic planning, governance frameworks and cross-directorate initiatives that support effective decision-making and organisational performance.
In this role, you will provide strategic advice on governance and performance reporting, develop and implement strategies, review business processes and frameworks, and prepare high-quality briefings, reports and correspondence for senior executives and government stakeholders. You will lead projects that support strategic business priorities and work closely with colleagues across the Directorate to deliver strong governance outcomes and maintain alignment with whole-of-government requirements.
You will also be responsible for preparing reports and insights for executive committees, maintaining governance documentation and records, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives through research, analysis and stakeholder engagement. The role requires strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to build productive partnerships across government and external organisations.
As an Assistant Director, you will work collaboratively in a team environment while managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality customer service. You may also supervise and mentor junior staff , supporting their professional development and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
