Job summary

Catholic Early EdCare is seeking an Assistant Director for our Ashmore Early Learning Centre. This permanent, part-time role (up to 35 hours weekly) focuses on leading and supporting a passionate team, fostering strong relationships with families, and delivering high-quality early learning experiences.

You will work closely with the Centre Director to guide daily operations, mentor educators, and drive positive outcomes for children in a warm, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA-approved).
• Experience in an early childhood leadership role such as Room Leader, Team Leader or Assistant Director.
• Strong knowledge of the EYLF and NQS and contemporary early childhood practices.
• Demonstrated ability to support, mentor and work collaboratively with a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, organised and reflective approach.
• Current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain one.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Willingness to complete Child Protection Training.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Director with the day-to-day operations of the service.
• Provide leadership, guidance and support to educators.
• Help create a positive, collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Support high-quality early childhood education and care practices.
• Build strong and trusting relationships with children, families and educators.
• Assist with administrative, compliance and operational responsibilities.
• Support the implementation of policies, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with programming and practice across the service.
• Help maintain a safe, secure and nurturing environment for all children.
• Step into leadership responsibilities when the Centre Director is away.

Education
