Job summary

YMCA Yugumbir Outside School Hours Care in Queensland is seeking an Assistant Coordinator to help run daily operations and support the Coordinator. You will lead play-based programming and guide educators to deliver safe, engaging care for children.

The role requires a Diploma in Children’s Services or related field (or current study) with experience in programming and administration, plus strong communication and customer service skills. Blue Card and First Aid/CPR are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Children’s Services or related ECEC/Teaching is required or you are currently studying towards it.
• Demonstrated experience in children’s programming and administration.
• Strong communication and customer service skills essential.
• Valid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one.
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
• Familiarity with the National Quality Framework.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily running of the service.
• Assist with child-led, play-based programming.
• Provide guidance to educators and support staffing needs.
• Maintain compliance and support administration processes.
• Engage positively with children, families, schools and the local community.
