Job summary

St Nicholas OOSH seeks an experienced OOSH Coordinator to oversee services and lead a team delivering quality education and care to school-aged children in Charlestown, NSW. This permanent part-time role (35 hours weekly) offers split or block shifts across before/after school and vacation care, with shifts roughly 6.30am–6.30pm.

Applicants should have a Diploma or Cert III in Children’s Services, a Working with Children Check, current First Aid, and Child Protection qualifications; safeguarding

Qualifications

• Proven ability in administration, curriculum development, and staff training.
• Understanding WHS legislation.
• Knowledge of CCS requirements and ability to use the CCS software.
• Willing to act as Nominated Supervisor under relevant legislation.
• Ability to support the My Time Our Place framework in school-aged programs.
• Budget management experience in Early Education or OOSH.

The Role

As the OOSH Coordinator, you are expected to oversee the operations of the service, lead, guideand support a team which provides high quality education and care to school aged children.

We are currently seeking a passionate and energetic OOSHCoordinator to join our successful and well-establishedservice at Charlestown, NSW.

Maintaining a work life balance, this positionwill be offered on a permanent part-time basis,with the option of working split or block shifts (35 hours per week), across our before and after school programs and vacation care programs for children aged 5 – 12 years old.

Hours for vacation care programs operate between 6.30am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday (approx. 8 hours per day). It would be an expectation to be available for most of these shifts.

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

• Proven ability in all areas of administrative procedure, curriculum development, parent and community liaison, staff professional development and training
• Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation
• Demonstrated knowledge of services requirements of the CCS (childcare subsidy system) and ability to perform software application for compliance
• Be willing to accept the role of Nominated Supervisor under the Children (Education and Care Services National Law Application) Bill 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulations
• Demonstrated ability to successfully support the My Time Our Place Framework for School Aged Children with the centre curriculum
• Previous experience in successfully managing a budget for an Early Education or OOSH Centre

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma in Children’s Services or Certificate III in Children’s Services (minimum of 3 years’ experience) as identified by Australian Children’s Education and care Authority
• Working with Children Check verification number
• Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training
• Child protection qualification - CHCPRT025 Identify and report children and young people at risk
