Job summary

Thrive Early Learning Mount Evelyn is seeking an Assistant Centre Leader to support the Centre Leader and stay close to children and the team. This role offers a clear pathway to Centre Leadership, with roughly 80% of time with children and educators and 20% on leadership and operations.

You will lead educational programs, support educators, champion safety and regulatory compliance, and mentor staff while contributing to workforce planning and onboarding.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA approved or equivalent).
• Working with Children Check for the state.
• Current First Aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis qualifications.
• Child protection training.
• Demonstrated experience as Diploma Educator, Room Leader, Educational Leader or similar senior role.
• Strong understanding of EYLF, NQS and National Regulations.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example delivering educational programs aligned to the Learning for Life Curriculum, EYLF and Thrive Quality Framework.
• Support Educators and Room Leaders to strengthen programming, observations, planning and reflective practice.
• Champion child protection, safeguarding and child safe practice.
• Ensure compliance with National Regulations, NQS and Thrive policies; support incident management and risk assessment.
• Coach and mentor Educators, Diploma Educators, Room Leaders and Trainees; support onboarding and probation reviews.
• Assist with rosters, workforce planning, leave cover and staffing coverage; support roster optimisation.
• Support Quality Improvement Plan work and Assessment and Rating preparation.
• Support tours, enrolment conversations and family onboarding.
• Act as delegated leader when Centre Leader is away.

About the role
