Job summary

Kitchen Warehouse invites an Assistant Buyer to join our Merchandise team, based in Perth or Melbourne. You will work with Buyers, Category Managers, and vendor partners to turn concepts into customer-ready ranges, with a focus on our growing In-House Brand portfolio.

This hands-on role demands commercial thinking, data-driven decision making and strong attention to detail. You’ll manage critical path timelines, support product setup and store/website execution, and collaborate across Planning,

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Buying team role.
• Commercial acumen and genuine interest in Buying and retail.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Intermediate Excel skills and confidence working with data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Hands-on approach and willingness to get into the detail when required.
• Curious, proactive mindset with a genuine desire to learn and improve.
• Collaborative approach and the confidence to take ownership.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Buying team role.

Responsibilities

• Merchandise Range Management: Build and maintain commercially strong ranges across Kitchen Warehouse, including In-House Brand portfolio.
• Use product performance, customer behaviour, market trends and data to support range decisions and profitability.
• Manage In-House Brand Critical Path, coordinating stakeholders, timelines, samples, approvals and issue escalation.
• Support product setup, SKU profitability, sample management and store/website execution.
• Sales & Profit Target Achievement: Use weekly sales data to identify opportunities and drive targets through pricing, availability, visibility, promotions and range optimization.
• Collaborate with Buyers and Category Managers to deliver sales and profit targets and contribute to post-season reviews.
• Marketing Support: Coordinate product assets for launches with Marketing, Digital and VM to ensure accurate content and timely delivery.
• Vendor Management: Build relationships with vendors, onboard new partners and drive product opportunities while coordinating with Finance.
• Communication & Collaboration: Work cross-functionally across Planning, Marketing, Digital, Finance, Operations to align on range and promotions.
• Shipping & Product Development Support: Assist transition of In-House Brand products from development to production, including imagery and barcode requirements.
