Job summary

Forever New in Melbourne is seeking an Assistant Buyer to join the Buying team and work closely with the Buyer, suppliers and cross-functional teams to take ownership of the critical path from order through to delivery. You’ll build supplier relationships and help ensure product lands in the right place at the right time.

This is a fast-paced global fashion brand where initiative, commercial thinking and great product are at the heart of what you do.

Working closely with the Buyer, suppliers and cross-functional teams, you’ll take ownership of the critical path, support commercial product decisions and help ensure product lands in the right place at the right time. • Take ownership of the critical path, driving product from order through to delivery
• Build strong supplier relationships, confidently managing milestones, challenges and opportunities
• Make an impact on trade by identifying opportunities to push, pull or adjust stock based on performance
• Develop your commercial eye through competitor insights, customer trends and product performance
• Get closer to the product, supporting fit and sealing sessions and helping ensure ranges meet brand expectations
• Collaborate across Buying, Design, Planning, Production and Visual Merchandising to bring ranges to life
• Step up and take greater ownership, supporting the Buyer while building your leadership capability

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU OFFER US

You’ll bring hands-on buying experience, strong commercial instincts and the confidence to take greater ownership within a fast-paced fashion environment. You’re highly organised, proactive and comfortable juggling competing priorities, with a strong eye for product and the ability to build effective relationships across the business and with suppliers.

• Previous experience at Assistant Buyer level, supported by a strong foundation in Buying Administration
• Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of product, trade and the customer
• Experience managing critical paths, suppliers and key production milestones
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to confidently manage competing deadlines
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to take initiative and make informed decisions
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills across suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly and reprioritise as business needs evolve
• Emerging leadership capability with the confidence to provide guidance and support within the team
