Job summary

Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Assistant Banquets Operations Manager to join our team and support the delivery of exceptional events in our Sunshine Coast Convention Centre and conference spaces across the resort.

Reporting to the Conference & Events Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of conferences, meetings, weddings and special events.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ experience in banquets, conference and events, hospitality or large-scale venue.
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate a team.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
• A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

• Assist in leading, coaching and motivating the Banquets Operations team.
• Coordinate with Food & Beverage, Kitchen and operational teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
• Maintain high service standards and respond to guest needs throughout events.
• Support rostering, labour management and operational efficiency.
• Build positive relationships with clients, organisers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance event experiences.

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Assistant Banquets Operations Manager to join our team and support the delivery of exceptional events in our Sunshine Coast Convention Centre and conference spaces across the resort.

Reporting to the Conference & Events Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of conferences, meetings, weddings and special events. Working closely with the Conference & Events Operations Manager and wider hotel teams, you will help bring events to life by supporting your team, ensuring seamless execution and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
