Job summary

Sedgwick Australia is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the Financial Control team in Sydney. You will gain hands-on exposure to month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, and internal controls while working under a Senior Accountant.

The role covers travel, audits support, AP/expense processes, tax obligations, and ongoing process improvements within a collaborative, supportive culture and flexible hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• CPA/CA qualified or progressing.
• Practical accounting experience in a commercial setting.
• Experience with month-end close and intercompany accounting.
• Strong Excel skills, Power Query preferred.
• Attention to detail and analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support detailed P&L analysis and investigate variances.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close including journals.
• Support balance sheet reconciliations and audits.
• Handle AP/expense processes and vendor management.
• Contribute to process improvements and internal controls.
