Job summary

Hindmarsh is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the Canberra finance team. The role covers month & year end processing, journals, and account reconciliations, reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant.

Key activities include reconciliation, analysis per deadlines, and preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements, BAS, FBT, superannuation, work cover and payroll tax returns. CPA studies encouraged.

Qualifications

• An accounting degree or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of work experience in an accounting role.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage priorities.
• Customer focus and responsiveness.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate and timely reconciliation of accounts.
• Providing financial information and analysis per reporting deadlines.
• Preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements.
• Preparation of compliance activities including BAS, FBT, superannuation, work cover and payroll tax returns and supporting work papers.
• Assist in financial planning and forecasting for the business unit.
