Sharp & Carter South East Melbourne is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant for an initial 6-month contract to join the finance team. The role focuses on month-end reporting, journals, reconciliations, BAS, and supporting broader financial processes within a fast-paced consumer products environment.

The successful candidate will have CA/CPA progress, strong Excel skills, and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in month-end reporting and reconciliations is essential.
• Progress towards CA/CPA qualifications is required.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end reporting processes
• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations
• Support accounts payable and receivable activities as required
• Assist with BAS and other statutory reporting requirements
• Investigate variances and support financial analysis
• Assist with inventory and stock reconciliations
• Support audit and year-end reporting activities
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives
• Provide ad hoc finance support across the broader team
