Job summary

Ambition Recruitment in Chatswood, NSW, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join a hands-on finance team. The role covers AR, billing, reconciliations and financial reporting, with a two-day work-from-home arrangement once trained.

There is a strong likelihood of permanency from temp-to-perm in a values-driven organisation. Key work includes AR, billing, reconciliations, month-end reporting and accounting support within a collaborative environment that values quality service and community

Qualifications

• Experience in AR, credit control, revenue management or similar finance role.
• Experience in aged care, healthcare or NFP sectors.
• Working towards CPA / CA qualification.
• Attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and process high-volume billings and invoicing.
• Support AR activities including reconciliations, cash collection and credit control.
• Daily and monthly reconciliations including bank, GL, balance sheet and cash receipts.
• Support month-end close activities including journals, variance analysis and monthly reporting.
• Process AP invoices and assist with payment runs.
• Provide high-quality customer service to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, review and process high-volume billings and invoicing

Support AR activities including reconciliations, cash collection, and credit control

• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and account disputes

Daily and monthly reconciliations including bank, general ledger, balance sheet, clearing and cash receipt accounts

• Support month‑end close activities including journals, variance analysis and monthly reporting

Process AP invoices and assist with payment runs

• Provide responsive, high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

Previous experience in AR, credit control, revenue management, accounting support or a similar finance role

Experience within aged care, healthcare or an NFP

Working towards or intending to commence CPA / CA

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational and time management skills.


• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
