Shriro Australia is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team on a 7-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity leave cover. • A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar financial accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of month-end processes, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare monthly customer rebate reports and review customer rebate claims.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain fixed asset records.
• Prepare weekly management reports.
• Prepare month-end journals relating to prepayments, leases, makegood provisions, rebates and non-reversing accruals.
• Assist with month-end balance sheet and stock-related reconciliations.
• Reconcile intercompany loans.
• Assist with BAS preparation and other tax compliance requirements.
• Provide oversight and guidance to the Accounts Payable team, comprising two direct reports in Australia and one indirect report in New Zealand.

About the role

Shriro Australia is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented and capable Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team on a 7-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity leave cover. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to take on a broad and hands-on role within a dynamic ANZ business. You will be responsible for supporting key financial accounting activities, contributing to accurate and timely financial reporting, managing a range of reconciliations and providing oversight of the Accounts Payable function across Australia and New Zealand. This role offers valuable exposure to financial accounting, tax compliance, treasury activities and team coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly customer rebate reports and review customer rebate claims
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain fixed asset records
• Prepare weekly management reports
• Prepare month-end journals relating to prepayments, leases, makegood provisions, rebates and non-reversing accruals

About you

• Experience in bank reconciliations, fixed assets and financial reporting
• Exposure to BAS and other tax compliance activities
• Experience supporting or overseeing Accounts Payable operations
• Advanced or strong intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems
• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
• A high level of attention to detail, accountability and initiative
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
