Job summary

MPES Group Aust Pty Ltd, based in NSW Smithfield, is seeking an Assistant Accountant or Book Keeper for a full-time role reporting to the Finance Manager. You will handle data processing, compliance and reporting across AP, AR, payroll support and reconciliations in a structured finance environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years’ bookkeeping or assistant accountant experience, strong Excel, and familiarity with MYOB or Xero.

Qualifications

• 3+ years bookkeeping or assistant accountant experience.
• Proficient in Excel and data entry.
• Experience with MYOB, Xero or similar accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, reimbursements and credit card transactions
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Record bank transactions and perform reconciliations
• Assist with payroll processing and compliance requirements
• Maintain financial records across multiple entities
• Support BAS, PAYG, FBT and payroll tax reporting
• Assist with month-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role supports the financial operations of the business through accurate data processing, compliance and reporting. You will work across accounts payable, receivable, payroll support and reconciliations within a structured finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, reimbursements and credit card transactions
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Record bank transactions and perform reconciliations
• Assist with payroll processing and compliance requirements

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years bookkeeping or Assistant Accountant experience with excellent fundamental knowledge on Accounting.
• Intermediate–advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with MYOB, Xero or similar accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail and time management
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
