We are partnering with a high-growth fintech company to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant for a part-time opportunity. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong focus on payroll compliance, and enjoys improving processes within a collaborative finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end payroll processing and ensure compliance with current legislation
• Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and awards, applying updates as needed
• Assist in the preparation and lodgment of payroll tax obligations
• Identify and implement process efficiencies across payroll and accounts
• Process supplier invoices, prepare payment runs, and maintain accurate records
• Assist with monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations and support BAS preparation and lodgment
• Provide general support across the finance function as required

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline
• CA/CPA qualified or currently pursuing
• Strong understanding of payroll processing, compliance, and payroll tax
• A continuous improvement mindset and attention to detail
• Excellent Communication Skills both verbal and written
