Base pay range

A$75,000.00/yr - A$85,000.00/yr

MARS is partnering with a leading Australian construction organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role provides financial support, contributing to the effective maintenance and continuous improvement of the accounting function.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Group's month-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Oversee the Accounts Receivable function, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the AR process.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist the Financial Control team with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage the upload of bank payment files.
• Maintain and update the treasury file daily, including cash position, short-term cash forecasting, and contract forecasting.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of bond and bank guarantee applications.
• Ensure accuracy of intercompany balances across internal entities.
• Contribute to the standardisation and continuous improvement of financial accounting processes across the organisation.

Skills and Experience:

• 1-2 years of experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
• Prior experience in the construction industry will be highly regarded.
• Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Flexible working arrangements available - one day working from home per week after probation.
• Only Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents will be considered for this role at this time.
