Job summary

Aunew in Huntingwood, NSW is hiring an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team. You will support a broad range of accounting tasks across the group and report to the Finance Manager.

The role involves preparing journals, reconciliations, asset management, cash flow reporting, BAS and FBT support, and ad hoc tasks in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Prior experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role.
• Strong ability to prioritise and plan work to meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail, accountability and compliance.
• Ability to work well with different departments and teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform GL reconciliations for Balance Sheet and P&L accounts.
• Process month-end journals and prepare management reports.
• Maintain asset records and labelling for assets.
• Complete asset registrations and depreciation for all entities.
• Reconcile asset clearing accounts and prepare CAPEX summary reports.
• Complete weekly cash flow files and follow approval procedures.
• Assist with monthly BAS and annual FBT returns.
• Support the team with ad hoc tasks as required.

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team based in Huntingwood. Our team provides finance and corporate support services to a group of companies operating primarily in the pharmaceutical and health supplement industries.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will support a broad range of accounting and finance activities across the group.

Key responsibilities

Perform GL reconciliations for Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts

Process month-end journals and prepare management reports

Maintain asset records and labelling for registered and unregistered assets

Complete asset registrations and depreciation for all entities

Reconcile asset clearing accounts and prepare CAPEX summary reports

Complete weekly cash flow files and follow relevant approval procedures

Assist with monthly BAS returns

Assist with annual FBT returns

Support the team with ad hoc tasks as required

About you

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role

Strong ability to prioritise and plan work efficiently to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks and projects

Strong attention to detail, accountability and consistency in compliance

Ability to work effectively in a team environment with different departments and diverse personalities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
