Alsco Uniforms in Melbourne's Carrum Downs office is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join the CRG division. You will support the Finance team with month-end close, reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and related accounting tasks.

You will work with Power BI, Excel, and other tools to ensure accurate financial data, asset and inventory control, and continuous process improvements within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline with progress toward CPA/CA.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office proficiency; Excel and Word required; Power Query and Power BI experience highly regarded.
• Experience with month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.

• Prepare group carbon emissions report and contribute to team effectiveness; handle ad hoc tasks as required.

About the Role:

This role is for an experienced Assistant Accountant based at our CRG office in Carrum Downs, Melbourne, and forms part of the Finance team.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will see you responsible for managing the day to day financial and administration functions includes:
• Maintain and follows sound accounting practices and procedures.
• Assist with month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal processing.
• ability to review, analyse, and understand Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and identify key business drivers and variances.
• Assist the Finance Manager and business stakeholders with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities.
• Creating, reconciling, and reporting an accounting pack with sufficient supporting documentation.
• Review and process the group fixed asset register
• Perform inventory reconciliations and support inventory control processes
• Create, distribute, and review annual branch FBT pack.
• Prepare group carbon emissions’ report.
• Contribute to the effectiveness of the team in terms of quality and productivity.
• Ad hoc assignments, projects and performing any other functions as required by the Finance department.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with progress towards CPA or CA qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong work ethic, accountability, and attention to detail.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. Experience with Power Query and Power BI for data analysis, reporting, and process improvement will be highly regarded.
• Proven experience managing month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the business, including team members and management.
