Job summary

Aspect Personnel is seeking an Asset Protection Field Officer for a 3-month temp assignment in Melbourne. You will join the Asset Protection Team to safeguard council assets such as footpaths, kerbs, nature strips, drains and street trees during construction works.

Key duties include site inspections, asset photography at build start and end, and clear reporting of any damage. You will enter data across council systems and follow up with builders to ensure accountability and remediation.

Qualifications

• Experience in asset protection, local laws, compliance or a similar council role (highly regarded).
• Understanding of council local laws and the Road Management Act 2004 (an advantage).
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to write clear, factual reports with photos.
• Able to communicate firmly and professionally with builders, contractors and residents.
• Current Victorian driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out initial and final inspections of council assets at building sites.
• Photograph all assets at the start and end of each build.
• Write clear, accurate reports on any damage to council assets.
• Enter inspection data across multiple council systems.
• Follow up with builders and owners when damage has occurred, so they repair it or are held accountable.
• Investigate and respond to complaints, including: unrestrained rubbish on building sites; damaged council assets; council land being occupied without a permit.
