The Opportunity

Our Assurance and Asset Management team continue to grow with our growing Defence market and we are seeking an experienced professional to lead this growth and join our dynamic, collaborative team.

Role overview

Lead the growth of Beca’s Defence assurance and asset management service across Australia. As the key point of contact for this area, you will shape and lead opportunities, strengthen and lead client relationships and translate Defence clients’ needs into sustainable assurance and asset management solutions.

Combining market insight with strong technical expertise, you will also work closely with project teams to achieve delivery excellence, manage risk and create lasting value for clients.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Project, Program and Asset Services, you will be responsible for:

  • Market strategy: Develop and implement a national Defence estate assurance and asset management strategy aligned with client priorities and Beca’s growth ambitions.
  • Client leadership: Lead client strategies and account plans, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and key partners, and identify opportunities early.
  • Bids and growth: Position Beca for success by leading high-quality bids and pursuits to strengthen our market presence through thought leadership, industry events and strategic partnerships.
  • Delivery excellence: Partner with project leaders to manage performance, risk and value, ensuring consistently strong outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Commercial performance: Manage pipeline health, forecasts, pricing, contracts and governance, refining commercial approaches as the market evolves.
  • People and culture: Work with team leaders to develop a high-performing client team and foster inclusion, collaboration and accountability.
  • Responsible practice: Champion safety, quality, sustainability and positive social outcomes across all engagements.
  • Market insight: Represent Beca at industry forums and remain informed about market, regulatory and technology trends.

This role can be based at either our Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne office.

About you

To be successful in the role, you have senior level experience in the Defence estate assurance / asset management sector with a proven track record of turning opportunities into outcomes by shaping and winning work. We’re seeking an established defence consultant and entrepreneurial leader with strong commercial acumen and the confidence in navigating panels, complex frameworks, alliances, and long-term programmes.

You’ll have an in-depth technical understanding of assurance and asset management across multiple markets such as Government, Defence, Industrial and Utilities, combined with the ability to foster, maintain and build client relationships and client engagement.

You will be dedicated and passionate about helping shape and grow our team. You will also have a deep understanding of the market and have success in building relationships and turning opportunities into outcomes.

In addition, due to the nature and sensitivity of the projects and our client, it a requirement that you hold (or possess the ability to obtain) a current Australian Government Security Clearance at Baseline level or higher, for which you will require Australian citizenship.

You will also possess the appropriate tertiary qualifications aligned to asset management or other related disciplines would be required.
