Job summary

Veolia Australia & New Zealand is seeking an experienced Asset Engineer to support water infrastructure operations and maintenance contracts across Newcastle and NSW. You’ll use asset data, condition assessments and risk analysis to guide investment decisions and strengthen reliability of critical infrastructure.

The role blends technical analysis, asset management, capital planning and collaboration with operational teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Experience managing assets within industrial facilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Commercial awareness and experience contributing to budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Review maintenance programs, costs, risks and asset performance.
  • Complete FMECA, RCM and maintenance strategy assessments.
  • Coordinate asset condition assessments and identify high risk assets.
  • Develop long term capital renewal and refurbishment models.
  • Support annual maintenance, renewal and project budget development; improve preventive maintenance schedules and CMMS information.
  • Identify critical spare parts and prepare risk-based recommendations.
  • Support asset management requirements and ISO 55001 certification.
  • Provide CMMS support, training and coaching to maintenance teams.
  • Work with operational, asset management and client stakeholders across NSW.
  • Willingness to travel across NSW, approximately one week per month.
