Snowy Hydro seeks an Asset Engineer - Mechanical to join our Engineering team in a full-time capacity. Based in Cooma with hybrid work options, the role focuses on improving asset performance, developing standards and maintenance plans, and conducting risk assessments to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years in mechanical engineering within hydropower, utilities or heavy industry.
• Experience in risk-based asset management and asset lifecycle frameworks.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for asset management and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Accountability for key assets (gates, valves, compressed air, drainage).
• Provide technical leadership on asset lifecycles and maintenance plans.
• Develop standards, strategies and maintenance programs for nominated assets.
• Perform health and risk assessments to support lifecycle planning.
• Contribute to Management of Change with strong governance and assurance.
• Identify opportunities to improve asset reliability across the fleet.
• Review and endorse project documentation and commissioning records.
